HOW TO REMOVE YOUR N SCALE LOCOMOTIVE FROM THE PACKAGING: (Posted 11.23.05)

N-SCALE VO-1000 LOCOMOTIVE PACKAGING: (Posted 9.30.2005)

We have discovered an error on some of the packaging for the N-Scale VO-1000 Locomotive recently shipped from Atlas Model Railroad Co., Inc. On the bottom of the packaging insert it reads:

Atlas N Scale VO-1000 Locomotive - Decoder Equipped

These locomotives are NOT Decoder Equipped.

The following road names have been affected by this misprinting:

N VO-1000 w/ Step Guards
Undecorated w/ Step Guards, Reading, Rock Island, Western Maryland*, and Union Pacific†
N VO-1000 w/o Step Guards
Undecorated w/o Step Guards, Northern Pacific, United States Army

This printing error does not affect the price of the VO-1000 Locomotive. The pricing Atlas set for these locomotives is correct for the non-decoder equipped version.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

N scale Santa Fe “Kodachrome” B23-7: (Posted 5.11.05)

After shipping the N-scale Santa Fe “Kodachorme” B23-7 locomotive, we discovered an error in the decoration of this model. The “SF” is in the wrong position on the engineer’s side of the long hood. This error applies to item numbers #49730, 49731, 49732, 49786 & 49787. To obtain a corrected body shell, please send a copy of the box insert label(s) along with your shipping address to: Atlas Model Railroad Company, B23-7 Replacement Shell, 378 Florence Avenue, Hillside, NJ 07205.

HO RS-1 DEFECTIVE WORM: (Posted 2.13.04)

It has been brought to our attention that a small percentage of the HO RS-1 locomotives shipped in November 2003(http://www.atlasrr.com/HOLoco/hors1.htm)
may have a defective worm (part #850318 on the included parts diagram). Locomotives with this defect exhibit poor low speed performance and hesitate when running at low to mid-range speeds. Replacement worms are being made available free of charge to customers who purchased one of these locomotives and have noted the problem. To obtain the replacement parts needed for your units, please mail a copy of the end flap of the box(es) from your locomotives, along with a shipping address, to: Atlas Model Railroad Company, RS-1 Worm Replacement, 378 Florence Avenue, Hillside, NJ 07205.

H15/16-44 Locomotive: Instructions for Body Removal and Replacement:(Posted 2.10.04)

The shell and sill unit (combined) are held to the chassis by friction. The shell/sill combination can be removed by gently grabbing the fuel tank area (either the tank or side skirts) with one hand and the shell with the other. Some careful tugging and rocking should separate the two parts. There is no need to remove the coupler boxes, handrails, cab, etc. The fuel tank cover (plastic part) may slide off when doing this. This is not a problem, and it may make the process easier.

When putting the shell back on the chassis, check to insure that the mounting tabs that hold the shell and sill unit together are all in place. These sometimes pop out of alignment when the shell is removed. Also check to insure that the air hose detail is not interfering with the coupler. With these parts in place, the shell/sill unit should simply slide back over the chassis.

N GP-7 LOCOMOTIVES

Please Note: The labels on the most recent run of N scale GP-7 Locomotives (Item #’s 48000-48001 & 48036-48047) are marked incorrectly and say “DECODER READY.” However, these models are NOT decoder-equipped. If you would like to request replacement labels, please give us a call at 908-687-0880.

6/7/2002 HO GP-38 Early Version Locomotive

During production of the HO GP-38 Early Version locomotive, we found the bolted access panel was omitted from the tooling of the dynamic brake section. This applies to both dynamic brake and non-dynamic brake equipped units. We have since corrected the tooling and produced some decorated replacement parts. To obtain the replacement part(s) needed for your units, please mail a copy of the end flap of the box(es) from your locomotives, along with a shipping address, to: Atlas Model Railroad Company, GP-38 Replacement Part, 378 Florence Avenue, Hillside, NJ 07205.
