Alco’s late-1950s RS11 diesel is the latest model in the Atlas Classic
line, which features upgraded versions of past Atlas models. The RS-11 features
improved tooling, including full pilots, corrected wheelbase, Accumate knuckle
couplers and golden-white LED headlights. The model will be available with
or without a DCC decoder. Road names
Include Alco demonstrator; Delaware & Hudson (gray, blue and yellow);
Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific (red, blue and white); Maine Central (green
and gold); Norfolk & Western (black); Northern Pacific (black and gold)
and Southern Pacific (black widow). Decoder-equipped models are $134.95
and standard (DCC-ready) models are $99.95; January 2006 delivery is expected.
