Atlas O Creates Breast Cancer Awareness Car, and Charitable Donations

Atlas O Executive Vice President Jim Weaver has announced the arrival of the company’s Breast Cancer Awareness Car just in time for October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Jim commented that, “the Atlas O Master Line series car is a faithful rendition of the actual pink Wisconsin and Southern ‘Fight Against Cancer’ 53’Evans Double Plug Door Box Car. I’m happy to report that all these Atlas O cars have been sold out,” said Jim.

The cars were made in both 2 rail and three rail versions and include true ¼” scale dimensions and details; die-cast floor with complete undercarriage detail, separately applied ladders, brake wheel, safety platform, door bars and door handles, die cast sprung 70 ton roller bearing trucks, accurate painting and lettering. 2 rail units include scale wheels and Kadee-compatible scale couplers.

Diane S. Haedrich, President of Atlas Model Railroad Company received the first production model of the car and announced the following organizations as recipients of Atlas O donations in the amount of $500.00 each; American Cancer Society, http://www.cancer.org, American College of Obstetricians, http://www.acog.org, Breast Cancer Network of Strength, (formerly Y-NE), http://www.networkofstrength.org, Men Against Breast Cancer, (MABC) http://www.menagainstbreastcancer.org, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, http://ww5.komen.org.

Diane expressed her appreciation for the supporters of the Atlas O Breast Cancer car project and the diverse group of organizations dedicated to fighting cancer on an on-going basis. “I’d like to thank the Atlas O distributors, dealers and most of all customers who made the charitable donations possible to these deserving groups,” said Diane.
