New HO Vehicles!

Main Street Motors™ is a new line of HO scale plastic vehicle models from Masterpiece Automotive Replicas. They feature the same high-precision tooling and craftsmanship found on our premium models but they are designed for the model railroader who wants a good-looking model and a great price.

Plymouth was out to win you over in 1968. There were 27 full-size versions ranging from the Fury I to the VIP and they came equipped with engines ranging from a 225 CID “Slant-Six” to the 375-horsepower 440 CID Super Commando with a 4-barrel carburetor and a special camshaft. Even the base model was nicely equipped with cloth and vinyl interior and color-keyed carpeting.

From the 1960s to the 1980s, when it left the police vehicle market, Chrysler was the dominant supplier of cars to American law enforcement agencies. While civilian buyers of the Fury I were limited in their engine selection, government buyers could select any available powerplant. The 383 CID V8 with a 3.23 real axle ratio was a popular choice with state police forces.

Whether it was the family car or earned its keep as a fleet car, taxi or public service vehicle, the Ford Custom was definitely “The Going Thing” in 1970, especially when equipped with the popular 390 CID V8 engine. That year, Americans bought 850,335 full-size Fords including 42,849 Custom 4-door sedans.

Ford introduced the first police package in 1950 and has sold more police cars than any other American brand. In 1970, law enforcement agencies could specify engines up to a 360-horsepower, 428 CID V8 for high-speed pursuits.
