Atlas Trainman® joins the Myspace network Atlas has always prided itself on being an innovator, taking full advantage of new technology and generally keeping up with the times. Therefore, Atlas Trainman® has now joined the Myspace ranks and is quickly becoming friends with many other Myspacer's, from teenagers to seniors. Once we got involved, we were both surprised and pleased to learn just how many model railroaders are active on the site! The most appealing feature of this website, as opposed to other online social networks; it's free of charge. To create a profile is quite simple with Myspace's Profile Editor. As a member, you have the freedom to upload pictures, videos, and music at your leisure. Once your profile is complete, you may start contacting friends and add them to your network. Myspace's messaging system is easier than sending an email, or, if you'd like to send a message to all of your friends at once, just post a bulletin. Myspace is full of social opportunities such as photo and profile comments, unlimited blog entries, and a new instant messaging system. Members can start their own, or join many existing Myspace Groups, such as “Myspace Model Railroader.” Here you can discuss your common interests with people all over the globe. “We've met many great people from numerous countries and value their interesting input,” said John Cicero, Atlas’ Advertising Division Manager. “That's the great thing about Myspace; it's an open relationship with the Atlas Company. Most companies on Myspace try to constantly sell their product or redirect you to another website, however, Atlas just wants to meet new people and start another branch of the Atlas family tree. We welcome personal messages and profile comments. In most cases, we will reply within a day or two. We feel here at Atlas that the best way to reach a person is to listen to what they have to say. Myspace.com is the perfect social outlet for just that. Our goal is to make sure friends of Atlas Trainman® are treated like friends; no auto responses to messages and no fishing for friends by the thousands.”
Since 2003, Myspace.com has grown to be the number one social and media hub of the internet. Founded by Intermix Media, Myspace's popularity soon grabbed the attention of Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who purchased the budding company for $580 million. With a global membership of over 120 million people, Myspace continues to grow in membership and popularity. On Myspace, as it does in all it’s media and literature outreach efforts, Atlas will keep you updated on upcoming products, post photos from tradeshow events, and find new ways to maximize this unique communication opportunity in the future. If you know anything about Atlas, you know you can expect surprises, and the unexpected! The only prerequisite to become an Atlas Trainman® friend...enjoy the world of model railroading.
