Enter the World of Atlas

We often hear from people who wish they could visit our headquarters in Hillside, New Jersey. As you can see from photos past and present in this newsletter, Atlas has undergone many physical changes over the years. Our current location, opened in 1959, experienced an extensive two-year renovation, completed in 2002. The main floor interior of the building was completely gutted and reconfigured into modern, efficient workspace, highlighted by muted shades of blue, mauve and grey accented with black and warm, natural wood. Two state-of-the-art kitchens were added, and the entrance was upgraded. There's even an imprint of railroad tracks on the Conference Room ceiling!

Much of the design work and color selection was done by Diane Schaffan Haedrich, daughter of founder Stephan Schaffan Jr., a former art teacher. Diane's artistic sensibilities created a stunning workplace that combines beauty and function, and surprises those who visited prior to the renovation.

We invite you to enter the world of Atlas. Come into our lobby, view our displays and say hello to our friendly receptionist. We're glad you came!

When you open the door and ascend the steps to our beautiful lobby, you leave behind one of the nation's oldest industrial areas right outside of Newark, New Jersey, and enter a world of model trains and modern accommodations.

Welcome to Atlas! Come on in and have a seat in our new lobby.

Our N Scale display case features many of our most popular N Scale products, including our popular promotional cars that quickly became collector's items.
