Atlas O Golden Spike Club™ News

Now in its third year, the Atlas O Golden Spike Club™ continues to add new members and retain those who have been joining since the club was introduced in 2007. Reasons include the wildly popular prototypical annual club car Deluxe members receive, the unique and highly desirable Special Purchase offerings exclusive to club members at special prices, and something new we introduced in 2009 – two levels of membership, Deluxe and Primary.

In direct response to those who expressed a desire for choice when it comes to accepting the annual exclusive, complimentary Club Car, members now have two choices when joining or renewing – “Deluxe” Membership and “Primary” Membership. Deluxe Membership includes all the club’s perks, including the Club Car, for $60. Primary Membership allows you to remain part of the club without receiving the annual car, for $30. Primary members will still receive all the other benefits offered Deluxe members.

2009 Club Car - 40’ Rebuilt Wood Reefer decorated for Scatena Bros. Wine Company .

This stunning silver car marks the first time Atlas has distributed a wine car in any scale. This finely detailed car was first shown to the public during the October 2008 York TCA Meet. The finished product is due to arrive to registered members in summer 2009.

Two ‘09 Special Purchases!

Jim Weaver, vice-president of Atlas O, LLC, announced two members-only exclusive Special Purchase offers for this year at the TCA Meet in York, PA in April. An order form for these very limited Atlas O Master® Line items – a 1937 C&EI “War Bonds” ARR Single Door 40’ Box Car and Napierville Junction Extended-Vision Caboose – was included in the Spring/Summer ’09 club newsletter mailing, and is also available for download in the dedicated GSC portion of www.atlaso.com.

Yes, that’s right! Jim created a Napierville Junction Caboose to match the annual 2008 Club Car of the same paint scheme, adding cryptically, “I want all GSC members and D&H fans to know that additional exclusive Napierville Junction items will be offered in the near future.”

All members registered for 2009, at both the Primary and Deluxe levels, are eligible to order a maximum of two each of these fine, highly collectible items, offered at special club prices. You must place your order by May 31, 2009. Details and features are included on the order form. Both are available in 2 and 3-Rail.

The paint schemes on the annual Club Car and Special Purchases are not available in stores or to the general public. Only registered members may receive/order those particular schemes, making them instant collector’s items.

Club Shirts

GSC members can purchase quality, easy-care club shirts in two styles - short-sleeved polo and long-sleeved button down, black only. The embroidered club shirts bear the colorful club logo, enhanced with gold metallic thread, and can be ordered at any time through the GSC portion of www.atlaso.com.

Club Newsletter & Website

The club newsletter has expanded to eight colorful pages packed with news, info, photos and more! The newest issue, Spring/Summer 2009, Vol. 3, Issue 1, was sent to members in April. Copies are still available for those who sign up in 2009. A listing of authorized Atlas O dealers is included to make it easy to locate Atlas O products near you.

You may also apply by phone during business hours, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, EST. The fee may be paid by check or money order, U.S. funds, made out to “Atlas O, LLC,” or via MasterCard or Visa only. An additional $10 shipping charge will be added to cars shipped outside the U.S. Applications are also available at shows Atlas attends.
